SSC Blue clinched the Palink Challenge Trophy Under 15 Cricket championship which was participated by nine teams. The tournament was organised by the Palink School of Cricket and worked-off at the Peterson Park recently.
NCC SSC Blue, SSC Red, SACA, Brendon SC, Oval CA, Whiteball CA, Bloomfield CA and Mathews CA competed in the tournament and in the finals SSC Blue met Whiteball CA. SSC Blue winning the toss posted a healthy 172 for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Whiteball CA never found things going their way against a tight SSC attack and were dismissed for 144 in 16.3 overs. Young SSC cricketers exhibited a fine quality of allround cricket in every department of the game helped them mainly in achieving victory in this highly competitive tournament.
Several Indian cricketers took part in this tournament which was conducted in such a manner to develop young cricketers’ skill and mental conditions.
Rohan Sanjaya of Whiteball CA was adjudged the Best Batsman of the tournament with an average of 144.0.
Sachin Imadoowage of Oval CA who bowled economically right throughout the tournament was awarded the Best Bowler’s award for his healthy average of 9.16.
Dunith Nimhan a promising allrounder of Whiteball CA with a batting average of 67.0 and a bowling average of 13.5 received the Best Allrounders award.
