A magnificent century by Karan Kashyap helped the British School in Colombo record a comfortable 74-run win against Edge Grove School of United Kingdom at Colts grounds on Wednesday (8). The match was played for the Tony Opatha trophy and the Chief Guest at the occasion was Dr. John Scarth, Principal of the British School of Colombo
Taking the first lease of the wicket, the British School U-13 cricketers scored a massive 229 runs for the loss of four wickets thanks to Kashyap’s unbeaten 116 and a 65-run opening stand between Viren Gemini (26) and Kavya Shukla (35).
In reply, the visitors could manage 155 runs for the loss of six wickets as the British School fast-bowling trio of James Graham, Kingsley Nanayakkara and Thiyago Pereira bowled brilliantly to keep the batsman at bay.
