1,000 Schools project now under way to ensure better facilities and quality education islandwide

The Cutoff point for those who passed the scholarship exam, to gain entry into better schools, has been further raised from 153 last year to160 this year, as the number passing the exam has also risen.

Sri Lanka has opened discussions with Australia on using their expertise to implement a Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework (SLQF) so that educational qualifications gained has proper quality. In turn the move will help students to gain easy acceptance from foreign universities they try to gain admission and also help those seeking employment.


The Education Ministry is to reconsider plans to release Year Five Scholarship examination results on the World Children's day every year,  ministry sources said. They said,  this was in view of the public criticism that release of this year's examination results on October 1 caused pain to majority of the children on the day the World Children's day was being marked.

In the recent survey conducted by the most prestigious and pioneer business magazine in Sri Lanka the LMD, BCAS Campus has emerged No.1 amongst the private higher education  institutions selected for the survey.    The survey was, actually, carried out by the TNS Lanka for the magazine on 43 selected institutions which included  semi-governmental institutions as well.


Over Fifty Sri Lankan students who followed the Buckinghamshire New University (Bucks) MBA at Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) graduated this year alongside other international students at the Graduation Ceremony 2013 held on 11 September at Bucks University.
