Recently joining the team at ICBS, Thilina counts over nine years of experience in lecturing finance and management related subjects for ACCA, CIMA, CISI and CFA Program. He has also been involved in training programs in Maldives and has been a corporate trainer in Dubai.

Thilina is a CFA Charterholder and a Chartered Member of Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI) UK. He is also a Member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) UK, a Member of Institute of Certified Management Accountants (CMA) Sri Lanka and a Graduate from the University of Oxford Brookes (UK) with Upper Second Class Honours.

He worked as a trainee audit executive at KPMG Sri Lanka conducting statutory audits and also as an equity research analyst at Asia Capital Plc. He also served as the Manager for Strategic Planning at a local institute and as a consultant at AR Capital Advisory Pvt Ltd a boutique investment advisory firm.

Thilina’s dynamic, organized, extremely detailed and comprehensive lecturing style and his explanations on exam technique has resulted in him developing his students understanding on finance topics and making them award winners both locally and internationally. His experience and expertise works well in the size controlled class rooms of ICBS who believes in personalized attention for their students, flexible study options, first class facilities, unrivalled study support, exam focused course notes and free online access . Outlining his plans in adding value by using his experience and expertise Thilina stated that that he would be using exam standard examples in his course coverage’s as well as mock exams, intensive revision and question practice for his students. The revision will focus on exam technique that will cover the key topic areas on the syllabus along with specific revision notes and exam rehearsal sessions. At ICBS the goal is to help students complete their ACCA diploma in 6 months and the advance diploma in 12 months and thereafter get the Oxford Brookes Degree in 3 months.

He added “Students at ICBS will also have the opportunity to study for an MBA International Business from the University of the West Scotland (UWS) through the institutes affiliation with the University, which students can complete in 12 months. In addition, the Imperial Job Hub will facilitate internships and corporate interviews. These Thilina pointed out are the added benefits that a student will gain by studying at ICBS.
